Overview:
The webinar, titled "Guide to entrepreneurship in Spain" was organized by Developia Foundation and Fundación Más Vida to provide essential insights into launching a new business in Spain. The event aimed to empower participants, particularly those from migrant backgrounds, with the knowledge needed to navigate the entrepreneurial landscape in Spain. The session was conducted entirely in Spanish as the majority of attendees were native Spanish speakers while the rest had a good enough level of Spanish to understand the webinar.
 
Registration: Participants registered via an online form to secure their spots for the event. A total of 20 individuals registered for the webinar, with the following 12 participants attending:

Webinar Content:

  • The session began with a very brief introduction of the two organizations hosting the webinar and a short presentation of the project. Then Part A, B and C of the project’s guidebook were thoroughly presented through PowerPoint presentations. Developia foundation presented Part A while Fundación Más Vida presented Part B and C.

 
Q&A Session:

A dedicated Q&A session was held at the end of the webinar, allowing participants to ask questions and seek clarification on topics discussed. This interaction fostered a collaborative atmosphere and encouraged networking among attendees.
 
Feedback:

Following the event, participants provided feedback on the Entrepreneurship Guide via an online form. Here’s a summary of their responses:

  1. Most Useful Aspects:

    • Entrepreneurship culture in Spain (Part C): the segment discussing the entrepreneurial landscape and culture in Spain was highlighted as particularly insightful, providing valuable context for participants who are from different countries.

    • Eight participants expressed that they found all aspects of the webinar useful, indicating a well-rounded and engaging presentation.

    • Communication and storytelling (Part A): many attendees appreciated the focus on effective communication, especially the segment about storytelling in business. This was deemed crucial for newcomers seeking to establish credibility in their ventures.

    • Practical steps to starting a business in Spain (Part B): participants found the section on how to set up a business in Spain very beneficial. Specific praise was given to the detailed discussion on legal requirements and compliance, which provided a comprehensive overview and actionable guidance.

  2. Suggested Improvements:

    • Participants recommended adding examples of specific sectors of business, for example a business in the food sector, which would increase the level of depth of the training and will provide more practical examples to refer to.

    • Some found certain business terms complex and suggested using a simpler vocabulary or providing a glossary with simple definitions to support beginners.

    • Some participants expressed the desire to have a second webinar.

 
The feedback received was overall quite positive and it will be used to implement changes and improvements to the final version of the Entrepreneurship Guide to better meet the needs of refugee entrepreneurs.
 
Conclusion:

The "Guide to entrepreneurship in Spain" webinar successfully achieved its objectives of educating and inspiring attendees about entrepreneurship in Spain. The engaging format and practical insights contributed to a valuable learning experience for all participants. All participants expressed that the webinar has served them well to learn about this topic, all of them have said that they have learned a lot during the session and feel inspired to kick-start their business ideas.
